New Association Board Of DirectorsAt the Annual Meeting last fall, two association members volunteered to serve a three year term each on the board of directors. Cary Ecker will fill the president position and Brian Stern will fill the secretary position. Many thanks to Cary and Brian for serving their community. Assocation WebsiteThe Association now has a web site! Check it out at www.the-falls.org. We are just beginning to put this together. Eventually it will contain much more information, including the CC&R's, by-laws, a neighborhood map, annual budget, and archives of newsletters, hot sheets, and board meeting minutes. Eventually we would like to make it a web community where homeowners can discuss neighborhood issues, such as experiences with local contractors. The site is still in its infancy, but we are very interested in what else you would find useful on the website. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or comments, please email Brian Stern at brian.stern@gte.net.Brian Stern Secretary 2003 Association Activities2003 has been a busy year for the association. The Board of Directors has completed the following projects:
Projects For 2004The Board of Directors reached some outstanding goals in 2003. Now that the Board is at full strength, we have focused on more projects for 2004.Our landscaper has agreed to maintain the waterfall at no additional cost to the association. He will make some minor changes in landscaping to minimize the amount of leaves that accumulate in the pond and pump during the fall. Some repair work will have to be done to the vault area before the water can flow again. These changes and a regular maintenance schedule should keep the waterfall running on a more permanent/regular basis. The irrigation in the northern median of Snohomish Cascade Drive will be replaced and new plantings will be placed there in the spring. Our landscaper will have many more options for planting when irrigation is available. Our goal is to give this median an outstanding visual effect. Landscaping will continue to be an important issue for the Board. We have asked our landscaper to develop a long-term plan to reduce costs and improve the appearance of our neighborhood. There are a few badly-damaged sections of fencing which will be replaced in 2004. We continue to monitor the developments taking place with the Tucker Regional Park. Initial construction could begin as early as 2005. It will be an enormous benefit to our community. Visit www.co.snohomish.wa.us/parks/tucker.htm. That’s a small list of highlights for 2004. Please contact the Board if you have any suggestions or constructive comments. Cary Ecker President
