New Member on Board of DirectorsSpecial thanks to Brad Scheevel for his years of service on our association's Board of Directors. Brad has moved out of The Falls. Brad acted as our Treasurer for three years. In his place Tiger King has been appointed as Treasurer.Annual MeetingThe Board of Directors invites you to the membership’s annual meeting to be held on Tuesday, November 9 at 7pm, at Totem Falls Elementary School. This is your chance to talk to the board about your questions and concerns about the Association. Come and find out what is going on in your community.Association WebsiteThe Association now has a web site: www.the-falls.org. It contains Association documents including the CC&R’s, By-Laws, and Articles and Community Information including Block Watch information, Neighborhood Maps and Community Links. It also includes copies of past newsletters, board meeting minutes, budgets, and roofing guidance. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or comments about the web site, please email Brian Stern at brianst@microsoft.com.Covenant EnforcementOur neighborhood is approximately 15 years old and still looks good thanks to the contributions of homeowners and association volunteers. In an effort to ensure that our area continues to be an attractive, safe, and enjoyable place to live the Board will be more active in enforcement of our CC&R's. Our housing values and quality of life depend upon the adherence to the covenants. This doesn't mean "life as is" in The Falls is going to change, but it does mean that extended RV hookups, cars in disrepair, and other issues will be addressed in a more timely manner. We plan to adopt a fine schedule to minimize severe or prolonged violations. One warning will be given and if no action is taken, then a fine will be imposed. There will be an appeal process involving the Board of Directors, and any unpaid balances may result in a lien being placed on the home in violation. Our surrounding neighborhoods have been successful using this system. The Board feels it is time for The Falls to implement a similar program. 2005 BudgetThe Board is developing the 2005 budget. For 2005 the Board expects to increase expenditures in most categories by 4%, however, it does not expect to raise the Association dues. To see a preliminary version of the budget go to the Association web site at www.the-falls.org.2005 ProjectsThe Board of Directors expects to work on the following projects:
